The INFINITI Q50 doesn’t get significant changes between the 2020 and 2021 model years. Aside from a few minor adjustments, the 2021 INFINITI Q50 is essentially the same luxury sedan as the 2020 INFINITI Q50. The 2021 Q50 keeps the status quo following a more significant update for the 2020 model year. The 2020 Q50 added some new features and saw some reshuffling to the trim lineup itself. In 2020, the Q50 got an updated infotainment system that included Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard tools for the first time. Additionally, the trim lineup changed to replace the base trim, called the 2.0T Pure, with a new trim called the 3.0T Pure instead. A new Edition 30 trim was launched as well. Aside from the few changes from one year to the next, you can’t go wrong with the INFINITI Q50, which is an equally appealing vehicle in both the 2020 and 2021 model years. To see for yourself how the two Q50 models compare, be sure to schedule a 2020 INFINITI Q50 virtual test drive and inquire about trying out the 2021 model year as well.
Performance and Handling
Performance and handling are essentially the same for the 2020 and 2021 editions of the INFINITI Q50. There are two available powertrains for both. The base engine in both model years is a 3.0L V6 that creates 300 HP and just under 300 LB-FT of torque. The second engine, which outfits the Red Sport 400, delivers more power at 400 HP. Both engines run on regular gasoline, and they are both connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but you can choose all-wheel drive for a more precise ride and better traction and handling.
Style
Style is also wholly the same for the 2021 and 2020 Q50, with numerous trim-specific variations for both. The lineup is the same for both model years. First in line is the Pure, which is followed by the Luxe, Sensory, and Red Sport 400. A dazzling exterior complete with bright LED lights highlights the base trim for the 2021 and 2020 Q50. Unique exterior features are added to the Edition 30 trim level, which arrived in the lineup for the 2020 year. The Red Sport 400 has a unique red color scheme inside and out. It also has larger brakes and exclusive sporty exterior elements. Chrome touches add a polished look to all trims. When you schedule a 2020 INFINITI Q50 virtual test drive at INFINITI of Gwinnett, you’ll be able to get a closer look for yourself at the luxury sedan’s lavish exterior design.
Interior Design
While the INFINITI Q50 turns heads from the outside, its interior is equally captivating. The sedan’s interior is spacious and comfortable. Between the 2020 and 2021 model years you’ll find that a few more safety features are added to the mid-level trims for 2021. Otherwise, the two model years have the same features across the board. Both model years seat five people in all trim levels. Features on the base model include keyless entry, simulated leather upholstery, and dual touchscreen displays with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. More safety features and luxury items are added to the higher-end trims, including leather seats, a 16-speaker Bose stereo, power-adjustable seats, and custom interior styling elements. The safety package on the 2020 Q50 includes forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking. Lane departure warning is added to the mid-level trims for the 2021 model year. Additional safety amenities are added to the higher-level trims including blind-spot monitoring and lane-keep assist.
