2019 INFINITI QX30 vs 2019 Lexus NX | What’s the Difference?

Fuel Efficiency

As small vehicles, the 2019 INFINITI QX30 and the 2019 Lexus NX provide outstanding fuel economy. The QX30, thanks in large part to a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder (I4) engine, can attain up to 24 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The NX also comes with a 2.0-liter I4, although it provides 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. That’s 2 less mpg in city fuel economy and 5 less mpg in highway fuel economy than the peak numbers from its INFINITI counterpart.

Transmission

While the 2019 Lexus NX has its engine pinned to a six-speed automatic transmission, the 2019 INFINITI QX30 goes with a seven-speed dual-clutch (DCT) transmission. This type of transmission has two separate clutches: one for odd gear sets and the other for even gear sets. As a result, it eliminates the shift shock that can occur in automatic gearboxes. In addition, with the DCT, you can choose between letting the computer do all of the shifting and deciding to control it yourself. Indeed, the DCT helps improve the fuel economy of the QX30 because power flow from the engine to the transmission is uninterrupted.

Cabin Quality

More so than the 2019 Lexus NX, the 2019 INFINITI QX30 is praised particularly for its cabin. The interior is finished with high-quality black Fibretec material, and all seats face a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Higher trims offers enhancements or additions such as Nappa leather upholstery, graphic suede-like material headliner, contrast stitching, black lacquer interior accents, and dark wood center stack and door handle trim.
