Performance
Engineered to generate up to 330 horsepower, a 3.7 L engine block propels the 2019 Q70L and Q70. This entry-level powerplant cranks out a maximum of 270 pound-feet of torque. Both INFINITI models are compatible with a 5.6 L powertrain that has a V8 arrangement. When installed in the Q70L model, the eight-cylinder engine delivers up to 416 hp. The Q70 edition extracts 420 hp from the 5.6 L propulsion system. Each model is driven by a seven-speed gearbox, which has driver-adaptive technology for smarter and safer handling. You can further personalize the auto transmission by activating the Manual Shift Mode that operates on a fixed sequence of gear ratios. Another performance-optimizing function in the transmission is the Downshift Rev Matching. Both INFINITI sedans have the Drive Mode Selector that creates optimal traction on slippery roads. The Snow Mode delivers best-in-class leverage for driving in the winter season. Gas mileage is managed by the Eco Mode that adjusts the powertrain and transmission.
Infotainment
The InTouch platform governs all digital connectivity in the 2019 Q70L and Q70. Each sedan has an 8.0-inch monitor with the latest WVGA technology for crisp graphics. The touch-sensitive interface provides a convenient way to access the navigation software, which includes the 3-D Building Graphics and Lane Guidance. Both INFINITI models have four-year subscriptions to traffic feeds by SiriusXM. From movie times and gas prices to sports scores and weather predictions, Travel Link by SiriusXM is another useful service that’s accessible in the signature multimedia system. The Q70L and Q70 offer 16 premium speakers that are manufactured by Bose. Featuring the Studio Surround certification, the audio system plays music from SiriusXM, iPods, FM radio and other sources. Both INFINITI trims also have the Premier Package that includes various security and concierge services.
Safety
Optimized for urban driving, the Distance Control Assist is installed in the 2019 Q70L and Q70. This technology manages the braking and throttle to improve safety on highways that have stop-and-go traffic. Both INFINITI sedans have the Forward Emergency Braking that prevents the driver from depressing the accelerator pedal. The FEB also increases the braking pressure in a critical situation that might lead to a frontal crash. The all-new Brake Assist with Preview technology creates a substantial increase in braking power in emergency situations. Additionally, both luxury models are available with the Backup Collision Intervention that prevents crashes with other crossing vehicles. The driver’s awareness of the surroundings is improved by the Around View Monitor that’s synced with the InTouch platform. Besides showing detailed 360-degree views, the monitor also receives real-time signals from the Moving Object Detection function.
