Starting at $51,900, the 2019 INFINITI Q70L has a healthy rivalry against the 2019 Cadillac XTS that starts at $46,895. Both luxury sedans offer comfortable rides for five people, but the Q70L has stronger mechanical capabilities. This INFINITI model also gains a slight edge in digital technology thanks to the InTouch infotainment system and 16 speakers by Bose.

Capabilities

Delivering up to 330 horsepower, a 3.7 L engine block is the default installation under the hood of the 2019 Q70L base edition. This V6 powertrain cranks out 270 pound-feet of torque. Generating a maximum of 416 hp and 414 lb-ft, a 5.6 L V8 engine is available in this INFINITI sedan. Microfinished camshafts rotate with minimal friction during combustion in each powertrain. Registering 304 hp and 264 lb-ft on the specification sheet of the 2019 Cadillac XTS, the 3.6 L V6 engine is no match for the 3.7 L engine. When boosted by a twin turbocharger, the 3.6 L powertrain still has weaker capabilities than the 5.6 L engine, which runs on a conventional induction system with natural aspiration. Direct injection gasoline is another notable technology in the Q70L’s eight-cylinder engine.

Handling

The 2019 Q70L’s Intelligent AWD creates a 50/50 split in torque between the front and rear wheels. In normal driving conditions, up to 100 percent of torque is routed only to the front axle. The traditional AWD in the 2019 Cadillac XTS is slightly less responsive than the Intelligent AWD. However, this model has the Magnetic Ride Control that responds to various road surfaces. You could personalize the trip in the Q70L by engaging the Drive Mode Selector, which has an option that’s designated for snow. You should also use the Eco Mode to improve gas mileage for a long trip, and the Sport Mode guarantees a thrilling ride. Additionally, the Q70L has the Eco Pedal that creates a slight increase in fuel economy at high speeds. Seven ratios are optional in the car’s automatic gearbox, which is linked to a program that studies your driving patterns. By adapting to your behavior behind the steering wheel, the transmission operates more efficiently and smoothly. Sequential shifting points are also created by the Manual Mode, and additional gear overrides might be done by the Downshift Rev Matching.

Technology

An 8-inch WVGA display is standard in the 2019 Q70L. Powered by the InTouch technology, the GPS navigation system includes a handful of driving aides, such as the Lane Guidance. As you cruise urban streets in some cities, the 3-D Building Graphics will appear on the touch screen. The InTouch platform comes with complimentary four-year trials to SiriusXM Travel Link and Traffic services. Part of Bose’s Studio Surround series, a 16-speaker audio system is optional in this INFINITI sedan. The latest 5.1-channel technology is used to decode digital signals in the signature sound system. Also having the Studio Surround label by Bose, the sound system in the 2019 XTS has two less speakers than the Q70L. The Active Noise Control is another notable acoustic technology in this INFINITI model.
