Formerly known as the G-series sedan, the Q50 functions as the sports-oriented compact sedan entry of the INFINITI luxury marquee. For 2019, INFINITI streamlined the model lineup to comprise the Pure, Luxe, Sport, and Red Sport trim levels.

Performance

If you go with the base-level Pure, which is only available as a rear-wheel-drive model, your 2019 INFINITI Q50 will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine with an output of 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque and idle stop-start technology. The other three trims go with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque on the Luxe and Sport and tweaked to 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque on the top-performing Red Sport. Also, the other trims give you the option of an all-wheel drivetrain for optimized traction. A 7-speed automatic transmission is pinned to each engine.

Interior

At the base level, the 2019 INFINITI Q50 provides two rows of leatherette-covered seats for five people, with the front consisting of 8-way power-adjustable seats. Leather or semi-aniline quilted leather seat covering, power lumbar adjustment for the driver’s seat, sports-style front seating with heating ability and power torso support adjustments, a memory system, and a heated steering wheel are extended to the upper-level trims. Standard comfort and convenience features include cruise control, push-button ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, six-speaker audio, high-definition AM/FM radio, a single-disc CD player with MP3 playback ability, two USB ports for connecting mobile devices, a three-month subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio, a pair of INFINITI InTouch Services packages (four years of the Select Package and one year of the Premier Package), a four-year complimentary subscription to SiriusXM Travel Link, voice recognition, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, and a dual display system consisting of 8-inch upper and 7-inch lower color screens. Air purification and recirculation, a navigation system, a 16-speaker Bose surround-sound system, the ability to play digital media from a USB flash drive, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and remote engine start are among the features that enhance the upper-level trims.

Safety

Standard safety features on the 2019 INFINITI Q50 include a rearview camera, hill start assist control, four-wheel anti-lock braking, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, six airbags, and an anti-theft system that combines remote keyless entry, engine immobilization, and a panic alarm. In addition, predictive forward collision warning and forward emergency braking now come standard. Upper-level additions or enhancements includes a surround-view camera (in place of the rearview one), a front and rear sonar system, backup collision intervention, blind spot warning and intervention, and rear cross-traffic alert.
